Br.John Martin Sahajananda was one of the closest followers of Father Bede Griffiths. He made his Theological studies at St Peter’s Seminary in Bangalore where he first discovered the founders of Shantivanam. In 1984 he left his diocese to live as a Benedictine monk close to Father Bede. Br Martin has written several books, dealing particularly with the inter religious dialogue between Hinduism and Christianity.
In Br. Martin’s words: “In our time we see Christianity is in crisis, particularly in Europe. Belief systems which have guided people for more than two thousand years are losing their hold and losing their relevance.
This has led to a movement away from being ‘believers’ towards being ‘seekers’. This crisis should be taken as an opportunity to grow and evolve from half-truth to full truth; from Christianity to Christ.
