Why does art and language move us? How might developing a deeper sense of the body and the poetic imagination bring us to explore belonging and new ways to be community?
Falling on the Spring Equinox, a tipping point of the year, we will explore the body and language through movement, meditation art and reflective reading of poems from Rebecca’s newly published book and other writers. This will lead into writing explorarations to find clarity of image from our own experience, which we’ll then harvest to create a piece of collective poetry.
The day is inspired by this quote
If the thing desired is really light, the desire for light produces it…the soul empties itself of all its own contents in order to receive into itself the being it is looking at, just as they are, in all their truth. Simone Weil
