The story of the birth of Jesus has several. versions. There’s the fairy-tale version which captures our childlike imagination. And there’s the grownup version which changes the way we tell the story of our own life, indeed the story of everything.
Today helped by meditation and reflective sharing about our stories we prepare for Christmas – a bit like children and a bit like grownups.
The title for our annual reflective day with Fr Laurence just before Christmas comes from Book 4 of Milton’s ‘s great epic Paradise Lost:
Because thou hast..quitted all to save
A world from utter loss..because in thee
Love hath abounded more than Glory abounds..
Therefore thy Humiliation shall exalt
With thee thy Manhood also to this throne
Please join us to stop and rest a while during this busiest of times.
Festive refreshments available through the day but please bring a packed lunch.
